LVM Error

After installing an old server the following problem arose, arised, did arise?
whatever....

pvcreate /dev/sdb

Cannot use /dev/sdb: device is a multipath component

Let's asume linux is always right and have a look at the block device....

# lsblk /dev/sdb
NAME MAJ:MIN RM SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
sdb 8:16 0 4.9T 0 disk
└─361866da0754031002d01ba551b507e2e 253:2 0 4.9T 0 mpath

Hmmm, indeed something something mpath....

# multipath -l
361866da0754031002d01ba551b507e2e dm-2 DELL,PERC H730P Mini
size=4.9T features='1 queue_if_no_path' hwhandler='0' wp=rw
`-+- policy='service-time 0' prio=0 status=active
  `- 0:2:1:0 sdb 8:16 active undef running

I don't know about no multipath? I'm sure as hell I don't have the money for
fancy hardware like that.... I'm sorry wilbur, i'll have to put you down...

# Flush the "multipath map" 🤷
# multipath -f 361866da0754031002d01ba551b507e2e

Lets try again.....

# vgcreate vg_ovirt /dev/sdb

Cannot use /dev/sdb: device is partitioned
Command requires all devices to be found.

Arrgh, I allready wiped the GPT partition. I'll bet my left testicle that there
still is some MBR stuff hiding in the first sector....

# fdisk --compatibility=dos /dev/sdb

Welcome to fdisk (util-linux 2.32.1).
Changes will remain in memory only, until you decide to write them.
Be careful before using the write command.
